KIA ORA: from Neighbourhood

Updated: Dec 6, 2021

Hello and welcome to our little corner of the internet. We thought we’d use this very first blog post as an introduction to who we are and what we do.

We are Neighbourhood, a New Zealand-based not for profit organisation that encourages and involves kiwis with charities through hosting creative and impactful events and campaigns around our country. Essentially, you can consider us to be “facilitators of goodness” - instead of existing to raise money for ourselves, the events we run and host serve as an opportunity to drive people and raise much needed donations to support incredibly important organisations in Aotearoa.

We launched in November 2020, so are only just beginning our adventures (!!) but so far have successfully launched our first campaign, Cup of Conversation, created by our director Maddie in collaboration with Innocent Packaging. The ultimate aim of this campaign was to make “talking about our mental health as every day as our daily cup of coffee” and was executed combining art with mental health messaging. All funds raised were donated to I AM HOPE to support them in their services which provide thousands of young kiwis with free counselling and support in school. You can read more about the campaign here.

Each month, we will be hosting a series of events and have a whole heap of ways that you can get involved and make a difference to your wider community. To stay in the loop, subscribe to our newsletter, Notes from the Neighbourhood, published in the first week of each month, and follow us on Instagram and Facebook!

We are so grateful for all your support and can’t wait to make a difference alongside you all.

Arohanui,

The Neighbourhood Team xx
